DEM basics: presents a brief introduction and review of the discrete element method (DEM).
DEM elements
Discrete to continuum: derives the macroscopic continuum-sense stress, strain and tangent moduli from the particle contact geometries and contact forces at microscopic discrete level.
Particle models: describes the formulations of various particle models, including sphere, ellipsoid, poly-super-ellipsoid, poly-super-quadrics, cylinder, spherical harmonics, polyhedron, level set, and etc.
